MARCH 2001
Ice Carving at Virginia Beach, VA
A benefit was held at Virginia Beach for the Penguin Classic, an organization that raises money for Angel Flight.   SSG Rene Marquis and CW2 Travis Smith,  are both members of the United States Army Culinary Arts Team, and were asked to assist the organizers in the ice carving.  Both Rene and Travis are attached to the Fort Lee Army Depot.  They were assisted by 5 other ice carvers and together used 30 blocks of ice to carve the USS Wisconsin.  Among the other attractions at this event was the world's largest snow cone, a fun walk and a demonstration by the Navy
