8th Biennial Reunion
Sheraton Waterside Hotel
Norfolk, Virginia
September 3-8, 2002

This was a great reunion with a great turnout.  We had the privilege of touring our ships main deck and three decks above.  We were able to walk through the Ward Room and several compartments behind the Ward Room.  Two of our Third Generation crewmembers found their old bunks.  Walking through these compartment really brought back some fond memories.

Our Memorial Service on the fantail  was a very solemn and touching service.  We remembered over 130 former crewmembers who passed away since our last reunion.

Briefly, our reunion itinerary was as follows:  Fisherman's Wharf, for a buffet dinner, Golf Outing, trip to Colonial Williamsburg, Spirit of Norfolk lunch cruise and a trip to the Virginia Marine Science Museum. Touring the National Maritime Center-Nauticus and the Hampton Roads Naval Museum.   Of course, the best part was walking the decks of our Great Lady  at anytime during our reunion.

We were able to get together in our sea stories room every day and night.  Boy did those sea stories fly.

The banquet was a gala event with over 850 guests.

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words.  So enjoy the 100+ pictures that follow.
